Nebelnest – ZePTO

This is the 3rd album by a French instrumental band. Their debut (“Nebelnest”) was ok but lacked some punch. Then came “Nova Express” which was a stunning effort – a truly nightmaric album, full of dark soundscapes, sharp turns and a general stark vision. However, “ZePTO” is a confusing album.

It seems that Nebelnest are really trying to re-invent themselves now, but they’re still exploring the new turf with no real results. The project is a disorienting work, full of noises but devoid of a solid structure. Some of the pieces are interesting, some plain aweful. Too bad…better luck next time.
